Leading Intellectual Property Attorney, Raymond Millien, Creates New IP Advisory and Asset Management Firm

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Raymond Millien, a leading intellectual property attorney and former General Counsel of Ocean Tomo, has formed PCT Capital, LLC, an advisory and asset management firm focused on an emerging asset class - Intellectual Property (i.e., patents, copyrights and trademarks).
PCT Capital’s team of professionals provides a full spectrum of advisory services to create, acquire, manage and monetize IP assets. PCT’s services can be thought of as “Virtual CIPO (Chief IP Officer)” or “Virtual Chief IP Strategist” services, and its target clients include companies directly, or venture, private equity, buy-out and turn-around funds purchasing services for their portfolio companies. PCT is also in the position to deploy its own investor capital in opportunities that present themselves where significant value is being driven by IP.

Millien, who will act as Chief Executive Officer of the company, was previously with Ocean Tomo, LLC, a Chicago-based provider of diversified IP-related services, where he served as General Counsel and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. At the firm, he was responsible for overseeing all legal, compliance and regulatory affairs, as well as leading the firm’s Risk Management practice and assisting with acquisitions and the structuring of joint ventures.
Prior to Ocean Tomo, Millien was Vice President and IP Counsel at The American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) where his responsibilities included managing the company’s global patent portfolio and leading technology outward-licensing deals. Millien also practiced law at DLA Piper US LLP and Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox PLLC, as well as served as a software design engineer with General Electric (NYSE:GE) where he graduated from the Edison Engineering Development Program.
